I am the co-founder of the New Opera Group in NYC, and have sung leading roles in the American premieres of Cimarosa's Le Astuzie Femminilli, Haydn's Le Pescatrici, and Cimarosa's The Italian Girl in London. Crossing over to musical theatre I appeared as Pirelli in Sweeney Todd, the Padre in Man of LaMancha, Tito Morelli in Lend Me a Tenor, Gaylord Ravenal in Showboat. I also appeared in both the national and international tours of Hello Dolly starring Mimi Hines.
I have soloed in many of the churches in NY, and can be heard performing the Tenor solo in the Hickory Choral Society’s recording of Vaughn Williams’ Hodie. Most recently I has taken the plunge into cabaret, and am a member of the Bistro Award winning 3 Tenors in Search of An Act. My singing partner Sue Matsuki and I do an annual show, Sue & Edd's FABULOUS CHRISTMAS. It has been nominated for a MAC Award, and we went into the studio and recorded it! the CD is available on iTunes and CDbaby.com.
My first solo act, Romantic Notions ,was at Don't Tell Mama's new cabaret room. We sold out both nights! Stay tuned for a new show in 2016!
"Love has been the subject of countless cabaret shows, but Edd Clark makes it seem fresh—through imaginative programming (including obscure songs that are real finds), heartfelt interpretations, and fine singing. "
